Get in the Game! at the Strong National Museum of Play introduces underserved children to the video game industry.  The program seeks to inspire kids to take their love for video games to the next level – envisioning futures for themselves as creators, makers, and other roles in the video game industry.

Workinman Interactive was proud to volunteer for the Get in the Game! event along with other local area game developers to show video games developed here in the Rochester area, offer our expertise and knowledge to the next generation of game workers, and inspire them to make games of their own.

Students went hands-on our couch co-op platform fighter, Slam Land, as they learned more about the developers and artists behind it, and how the team worked together to create a finished product. They also talked with a few of Workinman’s development team on job opportunities in the video game industry and what it’s like to create games.

“Get In the Game” is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization aimed at creating a society where individuals of all races, creeds, income levels, and gender identities have equal opportunities and view the world with hope and possibility. The organization encourages individuals and communities to support their efforts in shaping the next generation to become world changers.

WM Interactive has worked together with The Strong to bring vibrant aquarium and butterfly exhibits to life, as well as several exhibits for the 90,000 square-foot video and board game expansion in 2023. We have also created hundreds of games for brands such as Disney, Noggin, Sesame Street, and many more global brands focused on education and inclusion.
