Interactive Exhibits

GOING BEYOND GAMES

For the Strong National Museum of Play’s 90,000-square-foot expansion—a tribute to video games—Workinman was tasked with creating 3 engaging, interactive exhibits inspired by classic video games.

SOCIAL CITY BUILDER

Inspired by classic city builder games, in City Sim: Building Designer guests can customize and add their own stunning structure using a kiosk featuring easy-to-use painting tools and stamps. When done, their creation is constructed right before their eyes on the big screen, in an ever-expanding metropolis of user-created structures.

ROCKIN’ RHYTHM GAME

Pitting up to 4 players against monstrous musical bosses, the arcade-inspired button-masher, Beat the Boss, plays like a fantastical rock concert, complete with fully-animated superstar monsters lit up by reactive stage lighting and exhilarating beats.

COOK FAST

Quick Cook is a fast-paced cooking game where the players become the chef, crafting orders by dropping NFC-tagged ingredients to the cooking pot. Take too long and the silly customer in the window leaves in frustration. Inspired by mobile short-order cooking games, a new physical twist was added to keep players moving and engaged.

LARGER EXHIBIT ECOSYSTEM

The greater Level Up wing of the museum uses an RFID bracelet that gives guests the ability to check in at each exhibit, saving their game scores and tracking collectables and unlockables, giving each player a chance to personalize their custom Level Up avatar and compete for the top gamerscore of the day.
